OUR SUPPORT
DATS provides outstanding training to selected students every year without any charge or obligation on their part. During the training, trainees will receive meals, uniforms and footwear at the cost of DIMO.

Since 1990 over 550 have graduated from DATS, Sri Lanka’s most exclusive VET Academy.
Many DATS Alumni lead successful careers within the DIMO group itself.

Kapila Perera is the Vice Chancellor, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Kapila joined UOM in 1995 as a professor and also served as a Lieutenant Commander of the regular force of the Sri Lanka Navy prior to joining university of Moratuwa.
He obtained a Masters Degree from University of California Davis in 1989 in Mechanical Engineering, followed by Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from the same University. Prof. Perera’s research interests include Turbulent Heat Transfer and Combustion Modeling, Energy Sources, Renewable Energy Technologies and Co-generation.
Renuka has studied in West Berlin,
Germany; has obtained Allgemeine Abitur at Robert Koch Oberschule Berlin, and has
completed her Degree – Ing. Grad. Electronics & Telecommunication Eng..at the Fachhochschule der Deutschen Bundespost Berlin. She holds a MSc. at University of Moratuwa. She has over 15 years of experience in project management with national and international organization; such
as GTZ (GIZ), GOPA Germany, MDF Netherlands, JAICA, KOICA, UNESCAP, IFC – World Bank, SMED of FCCISL and ADB projects etc. Her recent

projects were to conceptualise and establish 05 Centers of Excellence for students and
TVET practitioners as per Pakistan National Skills Strategy in partnership with
National Vocational &Technical Training Commission and TVET authorities and implementing organisation development processes..
She has over 30 years of experience in the Education & TVET interventions in the public and private sector in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Josef is experienced in managing industry-driven TVET activities and projects; with a focus on the German dual training system and its international transfer and a special interest in vocational training against the backdrop of international cooperation and development.
He has worked in education and training in Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Baltic states and is now head of vocational training in Sri Lanka.
